We have heard about hypothetical quantum computer systems breaking many of the public-key crypto in use—RSA, elliptic curves, and so forth.—and we've heard about "post-quantum" techniques that resist quantum computers. We also heard about quantum computers' potential to unravel different issues considerably sooner than classical computer systems, similar to discrete optimization, machine studying, or code verification problems.
