A small amount of electricity is used to run the system, but far less electricity than is needed for a conventional heating or air conditioning system, so there is a savings on utility bills and your home has less of a carbon footprint. The best practice is to look up what 'normal' is for your particular vehicle. There are two valves located at the lower end of the outdoor unit, one for supplying the compressed gas from the outdoor unit to the indoor unit and other one for receiving the return gas from the indoor unit.
