Configuring your Belkin wireless router

Step 1: To reach the web-based configuration page for the router, launch a web browser in . Click here for information on how to use a Windows® computer to visit the router's web-based setup page. Click here if you're using a Mac® computer.

Step 2: Set up the wireless network name for your AP by going to Wireless > Channel and SSID (SSID).
NOTE: Select Wireless > Security to set up the security of your network. Always save settings before moving on to the next action.

Step 3: After configuring the wireless settings, select Use as Access Point under the Wireless section.
NOTE: Follow the instructions for Disabling the DHCP Server if this option is not available on your router.

Step 4: Choose Enable.
NOTE: You will have the option to configure the router's IP address and subnet mask using this. Your current network settings should be compatible with these settings.

Step 5: Type a distinct, available IP address.
NOTE: Your Belkin router's IP address needs to be in the same range as the main router's. The IP address and Subnet mask are both set by default to 192.168.2.254 and 255.255.255.0, respectively.

Step 6: Click Apply Changes.

Step 7: Connect your secondary router or access point to your primary router using an Ethernet connection using the LAN ports on both computers.

Step 8: Join your wireless accessories to the fresh wireless network. Your Belkin Router should now be successfully set up as an access point.
QUICK TIP: If you connect a router to another router, you may get double NAT problems. To fix this, disable the router's router capabilities.
